After great first win at home Temple traveled to face the 24th ranked Milligan College for their season opener.

Milligan who were picked as preseason favorites to win the Appalachian Athletic Conference ended up proving too much on the night running out to a 92-59 victory.

The opening minutes of the game saw neither team able to pull away. An early flurry gave Milligan an 18-12 lead midway through the half. The Lady Crusaders pulled back within one point, through the strong play of Cherelle James. An 11-2 run saw Milligan open up the game again and Tennessee Temple went into the break down 40-30.

The Lady Crusaders cut the lead to 6 points just before midway in the second half.  This was spearheaded by the strong play of freshman, guard Gallishaw, who came of the bench having 10 of her 12 points in the second half.  A young Crusader team was taught a lesson in the last ten minutes of the game, which saw a six point game turn into a 30 point loss. The biggest stat of the game was Temple being out rebounded 52-20 on the night.

Temple scoring saw Anshel Cooper, finish the game with 13 points, Gallishaw ended with 12, James ended with 11, Gonzalez and Salera with 7 a piece, McGhee with 6, Charles with 2 and Wilson with 1. For Milligan, Mandela led all scorers with 27 points to go along with 10 rebounds.

"A disappointing loss on the road," Head Coach Kenrick Liburd said. "The final score does not reflect the way the game was played. I thought we did a lot well against a good team and just lost control of the tempo and then did not work hard enough at the defensive end. There is a lot to take from this game, we just need to learn from it and continue to move forward"

The loss, takes the Lady Crusaders to a 1-1 record.

Temple returns to action when they travel to Pulaski, TN to face Martin Methodist on Thursday 4th November at 7pm.
