In the first season last year of Tennessee Temple's revived fastpitch softball program, the Lady Crusaders won one game. They equaled that total in their first day of the 2013 season, winning 4-3 in a game called for darkness after six innings after losing 5-4 Tuesday at Bryan College. Beka James was 3-for-4 in each game and Kamron Adkins was 1-for-2 with a two-run home run in the first game for Bryan, when Temple's Haley Huskey was 2-for-2 and scored twice, Ashlen Mitchell homered and Carley Daniel and Raven Pope each was 2-for-4 and combined for three RBIs. Pope was 3-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs and Huskey was 2-for-3 with two runs in game two, when Taylor Yates, Alexsa Valdes and Christine Marino each was 2-for-4 for the Lady Lions, Yates with a homer and two RBIs. The Lady Crusaders will be back in action again on Feb 22th as the host NAIA D1 Bluefield College from VA. It will be played at Oolthwah High School at 4:00 EST.
