[Women's Basketball] Mid-East Regional Game ends Lady Crusaders season

Tennessee Temple Women's Basketball team hit the road on Thursday 4^th March to face King College in the NCCAA Division 1 Mid-East Region Semi-Final game. King College, a dually-affiliated NCAA II member, were the number 2 seed after finishing the regular season 15-11 and ranked 15^th in the NCCAA. TTU earned the number 3 seed after ending the regular season 11-14 and finishing 19^th in the NCCAA rankings.

Crusader Wrestlers battle tough at Conference competing against several highly ranked teams in the nation. Two to the top five teams in the nation are in our conference say Coach Harris, but we went head to head with them. We got beat in some matches but we beat them in matches as well. I'm proud of everyone of our guys for fighting hard.

Temple bats hot in game one and two defeating Berea by ten runs. Game three saw a strong resolve by Berea to avoid the sweep.

[Baseball] Crusaders 2-2 in Bryan/TTU Tournament

The Crusader Baseball Team battled to a 2-2 record against solid competition over the weekend, winning against established programs Emmanuel college and Indiana Wesleyan. Several Veteran players and new faces emerged to seal victories, Senior John Creed hurled the Crusaders to Victory with help from Former Bradley Central Bear Tyler Cross. Round two saw TTU Fall to a talented Rio Grande Squad who ended up winning the Tournament. In Game three David Adair and Freshman Drew Hammonds pitched the Crusaders to a tie game then Freshman Justin Crews' Hard hit ball in the bottom of the 7th got past an IWU infielder to seal the win. In the night cap the Senior Kyle Welch pitched a great game v.s. a pre-season ranked Taylor U and held the visitors to one run but the Crusaders came up short 1-0.

[Wrestling] TTU Wrestlers "Manhandle" MTSU for their Second Consecutive State Dual Crown

TTU Wrestlers saw a little fruit from their hard work they have put in over the past two semesters. They manhandled MTSU for the second consecutive state dual meet crown. Ryan Hall, TTU's 141 pounder, and Shane Vibbert, TTU's 157 pounder, started the ball rolling by dominating and pinning their oppenents. Sid Garrett mauled his opponent like a bear robbed of her children. Eman Woods lost a hard fought match to a highly ranked oppenent. Coach Guy Harris says, "Emanual is our team leader, he is a strong man and will rebound from this loss quickly and be better for it."

By far though, the match of the night was 18th Ranked Corey Wright from TTU versus #4 Ranked Isaiah Bradley from MTSU. The match had several close possible takedowns at the end. The crowd was going wild chanting "Corey, Corey..." Corey would need that support as the match went into overtime. Corey wore his opponent down and threw him to his back in the final seconds of overtime. Coach Harris says, "That was mountain that Corey needed to overcome. He just showed he can beat the best in our league. He needs to finish strong this year by pushing himself to his limits. If he does that he could place or win at the National tournament."

The Lady Crusaders play their final regular season game at 5.30pm at home on Friday night (19th February 2010) and will be celebrating senior night! It will be an exciting game against rivals Covenant College, who Temple beat on the road earlier on in the season.

The Lady Crusaders will be honoring seniors Stephanie Lovett and Shontale Wells who have been 4 year athletes at Tennessee Temple University, and have had fantastic careers representing their team and school.

Please come and show your support for these excellent student-athletes, and for the Lady Crusaders on this special night. Admission is free, and the men's game will follow at 7.30pm.

MTSU is coming to TTU on Thusday 2/18/10 at 7PM to take on the TTU Wrestling team for the TN State Dual meet Title. Come support your TTU wrestlers. 4 TTU Wrestlers are ranked in or near the top twenty. Ian Stephens in ranked 3rd in the nation and should be a national champion this year.

The Tennessee Temple Lady Crusaders traveled to Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, TN on Wednesday 3^rd February for the second match-up between these two teams this season. The Lady Crusaders were looking to improve on their 7-12 record, whilst the Redhawks (12-8), were hoping to continue their winning ways.

Alice Lloyd College informed TTU officials earlier today that their team would not be coming to Chattanooga today for the men's basketball action at 7:30pm. Impending weather in the Pippa Passes area of Kentucky was cited as the reason.

The Tennessee Temple Lady Crusaders hosted Talladega College on Monday 25^th January at the McGilvray Gymnasium. In their previous meeting back in November the Lady Crusaders upset Talladega by just 2 points on the road, so the Crusaders knew that Talladega would be ready for the challenge.

On Saturday 21^st January 2010, The Tennessee Temple Lady Crusaders set off for the long ride to Judson College in Marion, AL. Judson came out firing on all cylinders to start the game, hitting 7 for 11 from the 3 point line in the first half. Coach Liburd settled down his team, and Temple closed the gap by moving the ball well on offense, and getting the whole team involved. Lovett hit back-to-back threes within the last minute of the half, giving the Lady Crusaders the half time lead 56-48. After half time, Judson also hit back to back threes, which set the tone for the rest of the game. It was an offensive battle from beginning to end, which saw 5 of the Lady Crusaders in double digits. The Lady Crusaders controlled the pace of the game along the stretch, forcing turnovers, and with an all round team effort, Temple saw its best performance from the bench this season. Lady Crusaders took the win 100-82, and making it the 3^rd win in a row.
