History was made last week when the Tennessee Temple volleyball team traveled to Canton, New York to participate in the USCAA National Tournment. Entering the tournament with a 22-11 overall record, the Lady Crusaders held their own against the #1 seed, Florida College; however, the Crusaders fell 2-0 in the match. The Crusaders fell short in the next two matches against Alfred State and Carlow in 2-1 losses. Friday, the Crusaders played the last match of pool play against #3 seed, Berea College out of Kentucky.

In the first set, the Lady Crusaders found their grove and dominated with a 25-21 win. The second set the Crusaders led the entire set with a 25-17 victory. "The team pulled together after a tough day of adversity on Thursday, and everyone was focused and disciplined in playing their role for the victory. We played with heart and grit, the makings of true champions." Coach Mary Willis. Second Team All-American, Victoria Smith lead the team in kills with 35 kills overall. Honorable mention, Naomi Posada finished the tournament with 36 digs and 19 kills. Lydia Vick added 39 digs. Shatoya Medford led in blocks for pool play. Medford had 12 blocks, and 38 digs. Kiara Govan tallied 64 assists and 28 digs.
