Women's Soccer - Mon, Sep. 8, 2014

Another exciting week of Crusaders sport begins, with both men and women's soccer teams and volleyball all in action. Also, the 2014-2015 cross country season is finally here!

Second year Head Coach Monique Blanding will lead Tennessee Temple in both the men's and women's cross country events at the University of West Georgia Invitational (Sept. 13, 9:00am). The event marks the start of an exciting new season for the Crusaders cross country athletes and program.

After an impressive three consecutive victories, Head Coach Mary Willis will be hoping to extend the ladies win streak when the Crusaders volleyball team welcome Dalton State College to Chattanooga (Sept. 9, 7:00pm). This match-up will mark the second time that the Crusaders and the Roadrunners have faced-off against each other this season – Dalton claiming the honors in the first game. To round off the week, Temple will travel to Selma, Alabama, to compete in the Concordia College Invitational. To kick-off the tournament, the ladies will compete against Point University (Sept. 12, 12:00pm) before moving on to play Judson College (Sept. 13, 10:00am). Two eventual winners from both days of play will go head-to-head in a tournament final, scheduled for Sept. 13th, 1:00pm.

New women's soccer Head Coach Sam Mahtani will look to pick up the ladies first win of the season on the road, as the Crusaders begin the week with two away fixtures. First up for Temple is a trip to Alabama, where the ladies will battle against tough NCAA DII opponents, Alabama-Huntsville (Sept. 9, 7:00pm). Then, the Lady Crusaders will make their way to Mount Vernon, Georgia, for a match-up with Brewton-Parker College (Sept. 11, 2:00pm). Coach Mahtani and his team will round-off a busy week by returning home to face Point University (Sept. 13, 6:00pm).

The men's soccer program will look to improve on their 1-3 start to the season as they head into new the week off the back of a disappointing result to in-state rivals, Lee University. Temple will have the opportunity to bounce back from a frustrating tournament – which saw their game against Union College get cancelled due to inclement weather – when they host Oakwood University (Sept. 9, 7:00pm). The boys will then hit the road to compete against NAIA opponents, Georgia Gwinnett College (Sept. 13, 1:00pm).

All scheduled starts are in Eastern Time.
