Men's Soccer - Thu, Aug. 21, 2014

Schedules are set, preseason is over, the fans and the teams are ready for the two sweetest words in all of sports; "Opening Weekend." These are the times that make you proud to be a part of the athletic program. Opening weekend is here and it's poised to start with a bang.

Kicking off the weekend will be the Tennessee Temple Men's Soccer program. Their fixtures have them set to take on two local programs in Bryan College and Hiwassee College. The Bryan College match will take place in Dayton, TN on Thursday at 7:00 PM; then the Crusaders travel to Madisonville, TN to challenge Hiwasse on Saturday at 2:00 PM. Men's Soccer is beginning its second year under the hand of Head Coach Ignacio "Nacho" Ortiz, who added Assistants Sean Webster and Jonathan Fann to his staff for this year, while maintaining Goal Keeper Coach Mackenzie Stout. choco lite
Ortiz brought in eleven new players to his club, which returns only three seniors. The Crusaders do return Ryan Bolton as a solid staple for the defense that he managed the majority of the year last year, in addition to regaining off injury Midfielder Keegan Wilkinson who is eager to get on the field after redshirting a year. Tennessee Temple has no shortage of youth and is poised to be solid in the matches ahead.

Extremely eventful weekend for the Crusaders' fall programs as they are set to take on local colleges. For updates, be sure and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram or check here on Get out and support your Crusaders teams.
