Men's Soccer - Thu, Aug. 7, 2014

Tennessee Temple University men's soccer team has officially announced their 2014-15 schedule. The Crusaders will play a total of 20 matches; 8 home games and 12 away games. The schedule proffers a steady combination of familiar competition and conference rivalries, with NAIA, NCCAA, and NCAA match-ups.

The Crusaders will open their season with a two-game road trip, traveling to in-state opponents Bryan College (Aug. 21) before making their way to Hiwassee College just two days later (Aug. 23).

Temple will then return back to Chattanooga to compete in their first home game of the season against new opponents, West Virginia Institute of Technology (Aug. 26). The Crusaders three game homestand is highlighted by a match-up with old rivals Point University (Aug. 30) before concluding against Hiwassee College (Sept. 2) in the reverse fixture.

The men's team will then hit the road again to compete in the Lee University "Olive Garden" Invitational where they will face tough tests from two NCAA DII schools, Lee University (Sept. 4) and Union University (Sept. 5), in back-to-back matches. This will be the first time that men's soccer will face Lee University in a competitive fixture since the 2011-12 season. Two meetings against Oakwood University (Sept. 9 & 23) begin and end another short road trip with matches against Georgia Gwinnett (Sept. 13) and Alabama Huntsville (exhibition, Sept.19).

The Crusaders will then welcome another new opponent to Chattanooga, Warren Wilson (Sept. 27), before heading to Martin Methodist (Sept. 30).

Coach Ignacio Ortiz's team will kick off October with two important, home-and-away conference matches against USCAA rivals Concordia Selma (Oct. 3 & 7). These back-to-back match-ups will be shortly followed by trips to Bob Jones (Oct. 10) and Campbellsville University (Oct. 13).

Men's soccer will then return home to host Ohio Christian University (Oct. 18) to celebrate homecoming weekend.

The Crusaders will close out the home schedule against Tennessee Wesleyan (Sept. 21) and finish the season with an away game against Brewton-Parker (Sept. 30).
